Leptobarbus hoevenii : ウィキペディア英語版 | Leptobarbus hoevenii
Hoven's carp (''Leptobarbus hoevenii''; ''Jelawat'' in Malay), also known as the mad barb or sultan fish, is a species of fish in the barb family. It is native to freshwater habitats in the Thai-Malay Peninsula, Borneo and Sumatra. Populations further north in the Chao Phraya and Mekong Basins were included in this species until 2009, but are now considered a separate species, ''L. rubripinna''.〔SeriouslyFish: ''(Leptobarbus rubripinna ).'' Retrieved 10 May 2013〕〔Tan, H.H., and M. Kottelat (2009). ''The fishes of the Batang Hari drainage, Sumatra, with description of six new species.'' Ichthyological Exploration of Freshwaters 20(1): 13-69.〕 The two are frequently confused and the same common names have been used for both; only ''L. rubripinna'' is known from the aquarium trade.〔〔 It may reach up to about long. This fish is omnivorous and is a midwater to near bottom dweller. This fish lives in groups.〔 == References ==
